AHEPA Chapter 41 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn held an emergency meeting on Mar. 2, 2010 to decide on whether to send a letter to U.S. Congressman Mike McMahon urging him to vote on behalf of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide during the meeting of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. The resolution passed 23-22 and is scheduled to be voted on by the House. Ottoman Turks committed genocide against the Christian population of Anatolia in the early 19th century. Victims including Armenians, Assyrians, and Pontian Greeks.
