Zenon N. Trivelis, 81, a founding member of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Luke in Broomall, died of complications from Alzheimer's disease Friday at his Haverford home.
Mr. Trivelis was president of the parish council in 1961, at a time when the parish had a congregation and a priest, a spokeswoman for St. Luke's said, but before it was incorporated in 1962.
He was a member of St. Luke's parish council from 1960 to 1999, his wife, Anne, said, and was principal of its Sunday school from 1967 to 1976.
In 1983, his wife said, the Greek Orthodox archbishop of North America invested him into the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, making him an archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
