Budget Cuts May Keep the Greek Presidential Guard From Participating in New York's 2010 Greek Parade

The Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York expressed doubts over whether Greece would send the Presidential Guard to this year's Greek Parade on Fifth Avenue, due to budget constraints. FHSGNY President Demetrius Kalamaras told Greek Americans at a public parade meeting on Feb. 18, 2010 that there was still no definitive answer. The Greek Government already announced it would not be sending the military band to the parade.
