The Thymiana Chios Agia Ermioni Benevolent Society held its 31st anniversary dinner dance at Rex Manor in Brooklyn, on Feb. 13, 2010. Stavros Haviaras, a local businessman and parish council president of the Koimisis Church in Brooklyn was honored, and given an honorary plaque by Thymiana Society president Mike Frezoulis. NY State Senator Martin Golden also presented Mr. Haviaras with an award, as did Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, who was represented at the dance by Carlo Sisoura. Charles Kaptanakis, Esq. also gave Mr. Haviaras an award on behalf of NY City Councilman Vincent Gentile.
