The Epirotic Society "Anagennisis" celebrated its 75th Anniversary on Saturday night, Nov. 28, 2009 at Terrace on the Park in Queens, NY. Past presidents were honored at the gala event, in addition to longtime member Bessy Diamantoukos, who joined the group in 1938, just four years after its founding. Greece's Consul General in NY Aghi Balta was on hand, together with St. Demetrios Cathedral Dean V. Rev. Apostolos Koufalakis, Pan-Epirotic Federation of America President Fotios Galitsis and his predecessor Meneloas Tzelios, as well as the President of the Association of Northern Epirus "Pyrrhus" Haralambos Mellos.
