The Pontian Society of Chicago, in conjunction with the Pan Pontian Federation of the USA and Canada held an academic conference on the Asia Minor catastrophe at the Westin Hotel hall in Chicago, on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. This conference was made possible through the financial support of grand sponsor Constantine Stavropoulos, along with the "Enosis" Federation of Hellenic-American Organizations of Illinois, the Hellenic Union of Mid-Western States, the Hellenic American National Council, and World Council of Hellenes Abroad U.S. Regional Coordinator Theodore Spyropoulos.
