S & P’s Lowers Greece to Negative Rating

ATHENS – With Greece’s coalition government now quarreling over whether to lay off thousands of state workers, the Standard and Poor’s agency has downgraded the country’s rating from stable to negative, signaling more economic trouble and likely higher borrowing costs.
