SYRIZA: 'Gov't has clear rightist orientation'

AMNA--A statement issued by the main opposition Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) on Thursday underlined that “the new three-party government does not intend to stray off the path of the Memorandum”.

According to the statement, the individuals chosen to hold portfolios and the emerging policy convergence between the three parties indicates that the government formed “has a clearly rightist content and orientation, and is being supported mainly by the powers that are responsible for defending and implementing the most extreme and anti-popular policies in recent decades.”

A totally predictable reaction devoid of meaning; "clear rightist orientation" and "memorandum" are meaningless catchwords of a political grouping whose 27% in the last election consists largely of two parts, i.e. 4-5% paranoids of various stripes ("Leninists," "Marxist-Leninists," "Maoists," "Trotskyites" and other such), about 21-22% of former PASOK civil servants and unionists who were used to living off everyone else and now are resentful because everyone else doesn't have the money to support them. I am afraid this irrationality is the main ideological axis of would be demagogue Tsipras, a simplified version of the master demagogue Andreas Papandreou...

SYRIZA had an opportunity to join this government and declined, so they can shut the hell up. Either lead, follow or get the hell out of the way!

Exactly right, Aristide. It is telling that Tsipras himself boasts (!) that Syriza is the Pasok of 1981 -- the party largely responsible for the bloated public sector, sclerotic labour movement and crippling government debt plaguing Greece today.

Syriza would be the biggest mistake to get into power in Greece. Tsipras will put them on a down ward path to bankruptcy and ruin. The economy would tank, and people would be starving, rioting, killing etc.. In other words a breakdown of Greek society. It also would show the rest of the world that the Greeks really are that stupid, to believe that he can cure the economy by his way.
