Dr. John Lippas, Distinguished Eye Surgeon, is Mourned

DALLAS, TX – Dr. John Lippas passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 31, at the age of 92. Born in Somerville, MA to Greek immigrants from Asia Minor, Dr. Lippas was the first among his ethnic community to go to college. He attended Tufts University and went onto graduate from Tufts Medical School. A two-year stint as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force after World War II brought him to Texas, where he met and married his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary, who predeceased him in January 2005.
