NEW YORK – The members of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and some of the hundreds of other Greek-Americans in the New York Metropolitan Area who also consider the Cathedral their spiritual home gathered with Archbishop Demetrios of America and honored guests in one of New York City’s most beloved venues for a celebration of the parish’s feast day, and to welcome their new Dean, Rev. Anastasios Gounaris. With the late afternoon sun streaming through the window walls of the famous Boathouse restaurant in Central Park, Ted Klingos, a member of the Cathedral’s Board of Trustees, welcomed the 400 guests and announced the arrival of the new Dean, who was accompanied by the Archbishop and Michael Jaharis, the Vice Chairman of the Archdiocesan Council. The room was filled with the good will and high expectations of people who have been without a permanent spiritual father for almost one year.
