Alex Tsipras can take the blame for much of this over-the-top rage at Germany, his rhetoric has encouraged it. I'm appalled that the Greek media comes down hard on Golden Dawn (justifiably) and gives that ignorant leftist a pass. Same old Greek media, same old selective ethics.

The Greek media is as much to blame as the politicians are Philip. They feed the people all the garbage that comes out of the filthy mouths of the politicians because thats what sells.

You're absolutely right, Niko. The media are supposed to be the final arbiters for the voters in a democratic society, but in Greece they've been AWOL in that regard. They're as much to blame as the politicians they promoted for decades.

The Greek media is in my opinion a main reason why Greece has this mess it has now. The media is supposed to report abuses of power, political corruption, and crimes. It has failed in its responsibility to the country. Whatever happens in Greece, the news media should be investigated by a outside institution. It must be done to find out if it too has been corrupted by the political parties Greece has now, or had in the past.

Nicholas, the Greek media owners forgot their responsibility is to defend the citizens of the nation as a whole. Instead, they sided with political elites against the interests of the nation. They've betrayed their role in the Greek democracy and deserve what's coming for them. Greek media can no longer point the finger of responsibility, unless they also point it at themselves.

Philip I totally agree with you about the Greek news media. It is a corrupt institution whose values have collapsed and joined the status quo. When all is quiet again in Greece, they will be investigated , and hopefully the truth will be known, and prison sentences and correction will start for the media. If this is not done, then the cycle of failure of the media will start again. This is not up to me , but up to the Greek citizens to accomplish. Whether the Greeks can do it from what I see presently is doubtful. Believe it when I say attacking someone who was sent to Greece to help you, is a bad precedent , that will take them quicker to being totally alone to deal with their own mess.

It's disgusting behavior. What happened to Greek philoxenia towards visitors? I don't know the nation of Greece today, they're alien to me for the most part.

The mindset of Greek politicians, the media, and unionized labor has contributed to the destruction of the Greek economy and made Greece the mockery of the western world. I agree that almost all the blame goes to the media! They are the ones who are supposed to hold people accountable for their actions. Unfortunately even the media in Greece is intertwined with the corrupt leadership and backs certain candidates for the sole purpose of promoting that candidates personel agenda and then sells all that crap to the public who swallows it up and runs with it!
