Greek Tragedy

By ARIANNA HUFFINGTON

NEW YORK. (Opinion, New York Times). AS I follow the modern Greek tragedy unfolding in Europe, I flash back to the 18 years I spent in Athens, walking to school in Plaka (the old part of the city), on the same streets that have recently been filled with protesters and violent clashes. When I was growing up, my family was a tiny microcosm of the current Greek economy. We were heavily in debt; my father’s repeated attempts to

Arianna is a millionaire, because she flitted from one wealthy man to another. Her thoughts about the average Greek in the street who has to work to make a living should be taken in that light. Her cavalier attitude towards abandoning the EURO and going to the Drachma reflect someone of wealth, who doesn't have to worry about putting food on the table.

I think Arianna is a person who was born Greek, but his not seem, spoke Greek, or know anything about Greece. She has married money time after time, and is a great Obama Supporter. In my book she is what he call a un- Greek. Her opinion is useless, and she has never had to work for living.

Arianna follows the trends. She was conservative when it was popular, then swung over to the left when Obama came around. I don't think she has any real convictions. She certainly knows nothing about economics or currency theory.

Their's many former Greeks just like Arianna gentlemen who forgot where they came from once they made a few dollars, Or in her case, found them. These people offer nothing to the community. You'd think they'd use their "political clout" to get in Obama's ear and maybe offer to help with Cyprus and Fyrom but why waste a favors like these when they may need more personal favors down the line that only they themselves will benefit from. The moron Bush Jr. recognized Fyrom as Macedonia because some evangelical Slavs got in his ear. They didn't have to demonstrate or persuade Congress or anything like that. You'd think one of our own Greeks who are so close to politicians in both parties would do the same thing?!!
