Hellenic/Holy Cross Plans to Honor Behrakis

BOSTON, MA – Hellenic College – Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology will honor businessman and philanthropist George Behrakis by presenting him with an honorary degree at the 75th Commencement Ceremonies on May 19 for his long and valuable services and contributions to the School and the Church. Behrakis had served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for many years at Hellenic College and Holy Cross. Archbishop Demetrios of America and Metropolitan Emmanuel of France, whose Holy Cross class celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, will attend. On May 18 the School of Theology will host a dinner of honor of Behrakis at the Cathedral’s Community Center in Brookline. On May 12 Holy Cross will host a concert of the famous Boston Pops at the Symphony Orchestra of Boston. All proceeds will benefit the School.
