Turkish Petroleum Company (TPAO) workers stand in front of a drill ahead of a ceremony marking the start of exploratory oil and gas drilling by Turkey in the Turkish occupied northern half of ethnically split Cyprus, near Sinirustul/Syngkrasi, village, on Thursday, April 26, 2012. The move counters an offshore gas search by rival Greek Cypriots in the island's internationally recognized southern half that has touched off vociferous protests from Ankara and Turkish Cypriots.
