Archbishop Demetrios Summons Greek-American Leaders to Discuss Help for Greece (Updated)
Constantine S. Sirigos

Archbishop Demetrios of America invited the leaders of major Greek-American organizations to the Archdiocese for a discussion about how the community can help Greece during the economic and social crisis. The meeting was held at Archdiocesan headquarters in Manhattan on March 30.
Representatives of the Greek-American media will not be attending the meeting, but TNH was informed that a release will be issued afterwards.
Endy Zemenides, the Chicago-based Executive Director of the new Hellenic American Leadership Council, was invited but will not be able to attend due to a previously scheduled trip to Arizona. He is enthusiastic, however, about the Archbishop’s initiative, telling TNH “This is a tremendous opportunity to help Greece, even in small ways,” including donations to “The worthy organizations doing good humanitarian work all over Greece but which are starving for funds.”
