Surprising Cypriot Club Leads Champions League Group

Cypriot APOEL FC and Ukrainian Shakhtar Donetsk drew 1-1 on Wednesday night at Donbass Arena, sending APOEL to the top of its Champions League Group and Shakhtar Donetsk at the bottom.

Zenit St Petersburg’s victory over FC Porto in Saint Petersburg by 3-1 meant that the point APOEL gained during the match was enough to place it at the top.
