NEW YORK – A cure for Alzheimer’s. That ambitious goal is Effie Marie Lascarides’ life mission. After the illness struck her father, Peter Lascarides, and she experienced its devastating effects first-hand, Lascarides was determined to not just sit back, but to do something about it. Since March 23, 2005, she’s poured all her time, energy and financial resources into the Alzheimer’s CURE Foundation (www.alzCURE.org), hoping to put an end to the illness that strikes one of eight people over 65 and one of two people between 80 and 85.
