Greece earns a lot of money by its tourism industry. Basically, Greece imports hard currency in exchange for Tourist services. The question is what happens to the many billions of Euros that are imported annually into the Greek economy? Well, the real answer is most of it is exported right out of the country by Greeks who prefer to purchase foreign goods and services! If Greece wants to truly benefit from its tourism industry, they must find a way to provide an incentive for Greeks to purchase Greek goods and services. It's that simple and also quite complex. But it can be done. Greeks need to understand that keeping as much tourist Euros in Greece will benefit them greatly.
