About us

From our Publisher,

It can truly be said that The National Herald (1997) was founded in response to popular demand. The demographic changes in the Greek American Community necessitated its establishment.

Our readers want to know what is going on in the Greek American Community and Hellenic Diaspora, as well as back in Greece and Cyprus – and they want their news in the English language.

The National Herald is a direct response to this need. It is the newspaper that presents the news and addresses the issues of paramount interest to the Greek American Community.

As the sister publication of Eθνικός Κήρυξ (Ethikos Kyrix), the only daily Greek language publication in the United States, The National Herald is published weekly for Saturday home delivery in the New York area and via the post office throughout the United States.

Since 1997, The National Herald has grown by leaps and bounds to become the leading English language national newspaper of the Greek American Community.

In addition, TNH’s website (and its Greek language version www.ekirikas.com ) receives thousands of subscriptions annually from all around the country and world. We intend to be the website of reference for the Greek Diaspora.

Our website is a paid subscription site. We believe that a quality online news site should charge a reasonable price to ensure the quality of its product and continue to expand its services in new and innovative ways.

Our site is updated daily with the latest breaking news.

It is our pledge to you to continually develop this site as the online portal Greek Americans will rely on for news and any other information they may desire.

The National Herald: Brining the news to generations of Greek Americans.
