The halls of Greek American parochial day schools were once again ringing with the voices of young students on the first day of school. St. Demetrios Greek American School in Astoria, NY once again boasted the largest number of students among the local area Greek parochial school. The school, which runs all the way to the Twelfth Grade, has 600 registered students to date, but expects nearly 100 more registrations. The William Spyropoulos School in Flushing follows with 450 students, and the Hellenic Classical Charter School in Brooklyn with 385.
