This Merlot is produced from 90% Columbia Valley Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
This a wine that revels in its dark flavors – black cherry, blackberry, and anise. It gets an extra earthy boost with rich cedar tones and tobacco – specifically pipe tobacco as the winemaker’s tasting notes accurately assess. Smooth, and dry, the mouthfeel is quite velvety, or perhaps the marketing is just doing its job well!
This is a classic Merlot stylistically at a steal of a price.
It would show wonderfully paired with roasted duck with plum sauce and Greek spices.
