Charles Smith Kung Fu Girl Riesling, 2013
With his recognizable, stylistic labels, Charles Smith makes wines that stick out amongst other Washington State wines on the shelf, and rightfully so. I love his wines for their price point and simple tastiness.
The 2013 Kung Fu Girl Riesling is a dry expression of the varietal that doesn’t lack for fruit flavor. White peach and apricot are immediately apparent, complimented by a touch of cardamom.
Its crackly minerality tingles the tongue on the finish.
Though it isn’t a sweet wine, its characteristics make it a great choice for dishes that would often call for sweetness in a companion.
This would pair nicely with sweet and spicy keftedes.
